We are a group of self-identified leatherboys.
Leatherboy is defined as broadly as possible with the intent to be inclusive – “boy” not being based upon sex, race, age, appearance or sexual preference, rather it represents a common dedication to service and devotion to the leather community. A Leatherboy embodies both a sense of fun and of responsibility. But uniting all these traits is a Leatherboy's spirit of playful exuberance.
The San Diego Leatherboys is an organization dedicated to camaraderie, brotherhood, education, and service. We are, as the name indicates a part of the Leather community. You may be wondering what that means. Loosely, the Leather community is an umbrella term for the S&M, B&D, D&S and Fetish lifestyles.
You may be asking what a boy is. Simply put, a boy is an individual who finds pleasure and fulfillment in helping others and caring for them. There is far more to being a boy than this, and each boy defines himself, or herself based on their journey.
Some boys are boys because they seek education and learning to move in to a more dominant role in the community. Some boys are boys perpetually. They have the spirit of excitement, happiness and honor of being a boy regardless of their age.
If you find pleasure in helping others (your friends, partner, Daddy, Sir, Master or the community at large), if you enjoy spending time with others of a like mind, if you try to keep a fresh, positive and happy outlook on life, you may be a boy.
