The Resurrection Tribe is a tribe dedicated to resurrecting the current Leather Community. Within the recent past years, we have all been witness to leather clubs crumbling, bars closing their doors, lack of community education and leadership, an onslaught of Apathy and Leather Heathers, and so forth.
What Resurrection does is remind people that you don't have to become homogonized into the gay mainstream. You don't have to resort to cliques and Stand and Models. There is a real community out there, and Resurrection hopes to bring them back out from the shadows.
Believe me, it doesn't take much. Back in June of 2007 i began a monthly fetish night in my town, with the theme harking back to the 1970s bars of San Francisco and New York City. Wouldn't you know it? The Stand and Models and Leather Heathers didn't show up, but leathermen who had left the bar scene up to five years before showed up, and they continue coming in greater numbers, Even some of the Stand and Models have been witness to the reality of what the community once was, and what, i strongly believe, it can still be, and they showed great interest in learning, and being a part of the Traditional Leather Community.
Throughout my title year as Pennsylvania and Mid-Atlantic leatherboy i spoke and strove to reuinite and mend the Community, and with CODE: Philadelphia and my education workshop series The Bacchae, I am beginning to see change, or at least cast ripples and piss a lot of people off.
The point is that I can not do it alone, and if we want the Tribe to collapse and be just a bunch of cliques and Leather Heathers then that's fine. I just know that i don't want that. And I humbly ask for your support. The Resurrection need you. I need you. Your Community needs you.
The choice is yours.
